Posted:11/12/2008 - The Facility announces pricing changes. Effective December 1, 2008 , the hourly rate for data analysis will increase from $100/hour to $150/hour. In addition, a RealTime PCR reaction set up and instrument run on the ABI platform will increase. The price per gene/sample will go up to $5 and each plate run will be $75. Effective Januray 1, 2009, the Cancer Center Member discount will be reduced from 30% to 20%.
Holiday Schedule: In celebration of Thanksgiving, the Facility will be closed on November 27 and November 2008.
Posted: 9/26/2008 - The Facility is proud to announce the new Laser Capture Microdissection Service at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. The LCM service is equipped with a “Veritas” microscope system (Molecular Devices). The service is broad spectrum, offering access to and training in the use of the Veritas LCM system and if necessary, sample procurement. The Veritas LCM system is equipped with: a UV (capture) laser, an infra-red (cutting) laser and an epi-fluorescence capability. Context services (section staining, extraction of nucleic acids from LCM derived materials, sample amplification/preparation for microarray and/or RT-PCR are also offered. Posted: 7/25/2008 - The Facility has participated in a succesful beta-test of the next generation 3′-end labeling protocol for standard expression arrays. Affymetrix plans to release this new protocol by the end of the year. This protocol will greatly assist our Users because it requires less totRNA input (as little as 50ng). We will notify you when this new protocol becomes available.
